HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid


Satisfactory completion of this unit will enable participants to provide a first aid response in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

About the Unit

This unit consists of two (2) delivery modes:

  • Online Theory: Consists of reading, quizzes and case studies.
  • Practical Session: In this session, you will demonstrate a first aid response to a casualty.

Once the unit is completed with an satisfactory result, you will awarded a Certificate of Completion.

You will have the skills and knowledge to apply a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and work place settings.

Content relates to the knowledge and skills required for a first aid response, in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

  1. Must have a valid USI Number (Unique Student Identifier Number)
  2. Must provide photo ID
  3. Must have the physical ability to provide resuscitation by kneeling on the floor and performing two (2) minutes of uninterrupted CPR; and
  4. Must have access to internet capable computing resources for online components and ability to attend Lawson College Australia physical facilities for simulation and performance assessment.
